Destinations...

Of course, we didn't get very far before we came upon the food stand. I couldn't pass on the BBQ ribs... Carolyn declined to partake, which was probably wise.

The ribs were yummy, but I think I may have ate a few too many.

We didn't end up with any great deals, but we did meet some great people!

We met people like Joe and Claudia from Rhode Island who design amazing bird houses...some of them are more like bird "palaces".

We also stopped and talked to George Anton from Queens. George is a master craftsman of model ships.

The details of his models are AMAZING. Everything is made from scratch. A single model can take 1200 to 1500 hours and up to six months to construct!

If you are a celebrity living in NYC, you have probably already bought something from Kirby Harris of Vintage Optical. Kirby deals in antique frames and ophthalmologic instruments.

If you missed this Brimfield show, the next one is from July 5th to July 10th. Put it on your calendar now and get your walking shoes ready.

Brimfield Antique Show

By Wan Chi Lau

Antiques and Brimfield have a long history together. The Brimfield Antique Show is a HUGE show (over 5000 dealers). It is actually 23 shows all rolled into one. The different fields are spread over quite a few acres. Some folks stay the entire week so they can see EVERYTHING.

We went on the last day of the Spring show to see if we could find ourselves any bargains.

We saw ALL kinds of things...

"pointy iron things",

elaborate outdoor things, and intricately carved indoor things.

In the end, it was the simple things that caught our fancy :-)
