Krabi

From a message of the Krabi Seaview Resort: There is no such big damage in Ao Nang as in Phuket. The wave just hit the beachroads and the cleaning and repairs are already under way. They will of course take a couple of days, but there is in our opinion no reason to cancel any planned visit to Ao Nang/Krabi.

Local and foreign news
Phuket Gazette:
Kawee Sukunthamath, Chief of the Phuket Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (ODPM), early this evening said that 66 people were confirmed dead by the tidal wave which ravaged Phuket’s coastline this morning. Of the dead, 20 were foreigners. Another 691 people were reported injured and 22 more missing.
Phuket International Airport resumed normal inbound and outbound flight services at about 5 pm this afternoon, after debris left strewn across the runway by the tsunami was cleared off.
Reuters:
Thaksin said Thai Airways would add extra flights to allow tourists to leave Phuket for the capital Bangkok. "Right now there are lots of tourists and we don't have enough space for them to stay," he told reporters after arriving to assess the damage on Phuket.
ABC:
Officials say 92 people are confirmed dead on the island.
The Patong Beach hospital morgue holds 58 bodies alone - most are foreigners yet to be formally identified. Among them is an infant child.
Rescuers will shortly set out for the nearby island of Phi Phi where a further 50 people were drowned when 200 tourist bungalows were swept into the ocean.
Meanwhile, Phuket government officials say more than 160 foreigners are among hundreds of people yet to be accounted for.
Thai Airways International is allowing holiday-makers to cancel flights to Thailand without penalties.
