RainyDayKitchen...

We thought the weekend was the perfect time to try the Egg&Muffin Toaster from BackToBasics.  We assembled the ingredients (egg, pre-cooked sausage patty, muffin) and got ready (and hungry) for the FirstUse test.

The instructions were pretty straight forward.  The duration of cooking is controlled by the amount of water added... more water, longer cooking time.

We added 3 tbs of water as per the directions for a fully cooked egg center.  A little non-stick spray on the poaching tray, add the egg, a few quick stabs to break the yolk, and the egg prep was done.

The heat of the steam is used to cook everything.  So all of the trays have openings to allow the steam to permeate all the levels of the poaching chamber.  The various trays stack in a specific order.

The poaching tray went on top of the steamer and the sausage onto the warming tray.  The entire assembly was then covered by the lid.  The last step was to set the level of toasting for the muffin.

We selected the "Egg & Toast" option and depressed the toasting lever to start the entire cooking process.  In a few seconds the steam started to work it way through the stack of ingredients.

Be careful of the steam venting through the top of the lid.  The entire cooking process took about 6 minutes.  Everything was piping hot and ready for assembly :-)

We pierced the yolk on the first on but did not in the second one.  If you like the yolk in one pierce (photo below), then skip the yolk piercing step before cooking.

The best part about using the Egg&Muffin toaster to make this sandwich was all the pieces (egg, sausage, muffin) were timed to be ready at the right time.

We liked both how easy it was to make the sandwich and clean up!  If you don't have a toaster, this would be a fine choice.   If you love making egg/sausage/muffin sandwiches, this toaster would be a great choice.
